Directions

    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

    • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  2. Shape the Cookies:
    • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
    • Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or with your fingers.
    • Sprinkle with additional granulated sugar if desired.
  3. Bake the Cookies:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
    • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to cooling racks to cool completely.
