Amish Broccoli Salad

Amish Broccoli Salad is a delightful mix of crisp broccoli, smoky sunflower seeds, tangy dried cranberries, and a creamy, sweet dressing.

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Whisk or spoon for mixing

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry the broccoli thoroughly. Chop it into small, bite-sized florets and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the Mix-Ins
  • To the broccoli, add shredded cheddar cheese, red onion, dried cranberries, and sunflower seeds.
  • Make the Dressing
  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, white vinegar, and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Combine and Toss
  • Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture. Toss until everything is evenly coated.
  • Chill Before Serving
  • Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve
  • Give the salad a quick stir and serve it chilled as a side dish or light meal.
