Apple Fritter Bites

Apple Fritter Bites are a delightful and bite-sized version of the classic apple fritter. These sweet, cinnamon-spiced treats are perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Equipment

  • Deep fryer or large skillet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Paper towels (for draining)
  • Cookie scoop or small spoon

Ingredients
  

  • For the Fritter Bites:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup peeled and finely diced apples about 1 medium apple
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the Glaze optional:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Fritter Batter:
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples.
  • Heat the Oil:
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the Fritter Bites:
  • Use a cookie scoop or small spoon to drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  • Fry in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan, until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritter bites to paper towels to drain.
  • Prepare the Glaze (optional):
  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Glaze the Fritter Bites:
  • Once the fritter bites are slightly cooled, drizzle with the glaze or dip them into the glaze.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.
