- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas mashed
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare the Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it with non-stick spray.
Make the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas, and mix until fully combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for sprinkling on top.
Bake the Bars:
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips over the top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
