  • Electric mixer (optional)
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper or non-stick spray
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it with non-stick spray.
  • Make the Batter:
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas, and mix until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for sprinkling on top.
  • Bake the Bars:
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips over the top.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.

Notes

Cool and Serve:
Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
