- Bake the Cake:
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package instructions. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions and pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake the cake according to the package instructions until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Prepare the Strawberry Gelatin:
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Add 1/2 cup of cold water to the gelatin mixture and stir to combine.
- Poke the Cake:
- While the cake is still warm, use a fork or wooden skewer to poke holes all over the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Pour the strawberry gelatin mixture evenly over the top of the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
- Chill the Cake:
- Place the cake in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours, or until the gelatin is set and the cake is completely cooled.
- Top the Cake:
- Once the cake is chilled, spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the top of the cake.
- Arrange the sliced fresh strawberries on top of the whipped topping.
