Catch A Husband Cake

Catch A Husband Cake is a delightfully moist and rich cake that’s filled and topped with a creamy sweet glaze. It’s not heavy or overly sweet either.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Oven
  • Cooling rack
  • Small saucepan

Ingredients

  • For the Cake:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake the Cake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a cooling rack.
  • Prepare the Glaze:
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Heat until the mixture is warm, but do not let it boil.
  • Glaze the Cake:
  • Using a fork or skewer, poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake.
  • Slowly pour the warm glaze over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  • Let the cake sit for at least 1 hour to absorb the glaze.
