Churro French Toast

Churro French Toast brings the delightful sugary cinnamon flavor of churros to a breakfast favorite.

Equipment

  • Shallow dish
  • Skillet or griddle
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices thick-cut bread such as brioche or Texas toast
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • For the Coating:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Egg Mixture:
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  • Dip the Bread:
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  • Cook the French Toast:
  • Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.
  • Cook each slice of soaked bread until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
  • Mix the additional sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  • Coat the French Toast:
  • While still warm, coat each piece of French toast in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, ensuring it is well covered.
  • Serve:
  • Serve the Churro French Toast warm, with maple syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit as desired.

Notes

For an added touch, serve with a side of chocolate sauce for dipping.
