Cinnamon Bread

Cinnamon Bread is a deliciously sweet and aromatic loaf that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Equipment

  • 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Rolling Pin
  • Oven

Ingredients
  

  • For the Dough:
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk 110°F/45°C
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Filling:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Let the Dough Rise:
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Filling:
  • In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Shape the Bread:
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Roll up the dough tightly from one end to the other and place it in a greased loaf pan, seam side down.
  • Bake the Bread:
  • Cover the loaf pan with a clean cloth and let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes

Cool and Serve:
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
