Cinnamon Bread

Cinnamon Bread is a deliciously sweet and aromatic loaf that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients
  

  • For the Dough:
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk 110°F/45°C
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Filling:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted

Equipment

  • 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Rolling Pin
  • Oven

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Dough:
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the Dough Rise:
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  7. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Filling:
  8. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  9. Shape the Bread:
  10. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  11. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  12. Roll up the dough tightly from one end to the other and place it in a greased loaf pan, seam side down.
  13. Bake the Bread:
  14. Cover the loaf pan with a clean cloth and let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.
  15. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  16. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes

Cool and Serve:
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
