Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Brownie Layer:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Melt butter and chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler. Stir until smooth.
Whisk in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely.
Make the Cookie Dough Layer:
In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
Gradually mix in heat-treated flour until fully incorporated. Stir in mini chocolate chips.
Spread the cookie dough evenly over the cooled brownie layer using an offset spatula. Chill for 20–30 minutes to set.
Optional: Add the Chocolate Ganache:
Heat heavy cream in a microwave or on the stovetop until steaming (not boiling). Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 1–2 minutes. Stir until smooth and glossy.
Spread the ganache over the cookie dough layer and chill until set.
Serve and Enjoy:
Once the layers are firm, cut the brownies into squares. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
