Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together to form one solid layer. Brush the dough with melted butter.
Make the Cheesecake Filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth and creamy. This will form your cheesecake filling.
Assemble the Cake:
Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the crescent roll dough layer in the baking dish.
Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it on top of the cheesecake filling. Press the seams together to seal the dough.
Bake:
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the cheesecake to cool for about 10-15 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar. Slice into squares or rectangles.
