Method
- Prepare the Peanut Butter Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the mixture until smooth and well-combined. It should form a thick dough-like consistency.
- Incorporate the Butterfinger Pieces:
- Fold in the crushed Butterfinger candy bars, mixing until evenly distributed throughout the peanut butter mixture.
- Shape the Balls:
- Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.
- Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.
- Chill the Balls:
- Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill the Butterfinger balls for about 30 minutes, or until they are firm.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
- If using, add the shortening or coconut oil to the melted chocolate and stir until combined. This will help create a smoother, glossier coating.
- Dip the Butterfinger Balls:
- Remove the chilled Butterfinger balls from the refrigerator.
- Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s fully coated.
- Let the excess chocolate drip off, then place the coated ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Set the Chocolate:
- Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature, or speed up the process by placing the balls in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
Notes
