Ground Beef Mongolian Noodles

Ground Beef Mongolian Noodles is a delicious, one-pan dish that combines savory ground beef with stir-fried noodles in a rich, flavorful sauce

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Pot (for cooking noodles)
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Small bowl (for mixing sauce)

Ingredients

  • For the Noodles:
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles or any preferred Asian noodle
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • For the Ground Beef:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1- inch piece of ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chili paste optional, for heat
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Noodles:
  • Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the cooked noodles and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until lightly crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Cook the Ground Beef:
  • In the same skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon until browned and fully cooked.
  • Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet, and sauté for 2–3 minutes until the onions become translucent and fragrant.
  • Make the Sauce:
  • In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and chili paste (if using). Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce is well mixed.
  • Combine the Noodles and Beef:
  • Add the sauce to the cooked beef and stir to coat. Let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Add the stir-fried noodles back into the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the sauce and the beef mixture.
  • Serve:
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
