Ground Beef Mongolian Noodles is a delicious, one-pan dish that combines savory ground beef with stir-fried noodles in a rich, flavorful sauce

Ingredients

  • For the Noodles:
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles or any preferred Asian noodle
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • For the Ground Beef:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1- inch piece of ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chili paste optional, for heat
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Pot (for cooking noodles)
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Small bowl (for mixing sauce)

Method

  1. Prepare the Noodles:
  2. Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the cooked noodles and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until lightly crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Cook the Ground Beef:
  5. In the same skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon until browned and fully cooked.
  6. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet, and sauté for 2–3 minutes until the onions become translucent and fragrant.
  7. Make the Sauce:
  8. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and chili paste (if using). Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce is well mixed.
  9. Combine the Noodles and Beef:
  10. Add the sauce to the cooked beef and stir to coat. Let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  11. Add the stir-fried noodles back into the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the sauce and the beef mixture.
  12. Serve:
  13. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
