Method
- Make the Wontons:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and white pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing to seal. Then, bring the two bottom corners together and pinch to seal.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Prepare the Broth:
- In a large pot, bring the broth to a simmer. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil for flavor.
- Stir in the bok choy and mushrooms (if using). Let simmer gently while you cook the wontons.
- Cook the Wontons:
- Bring a separate pot of water to a boil. Add the wontons in batches, ensuring they don’t stick together.
- Cook for 4–5 minutes, or until the wontons float to the top. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to the simmering broth.
- Serve:
- Ladle the soup into bowls, making sure to include wontons and vegetables.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
Seal Properly: Ensure wonton edges are sealed tightly to prevent them from opening while cooking.
