Method
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or forks to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped jalapenos.
- Add the Buttermilk:
- Pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the biscuits tough.
- Shape the Biscuits:
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
- Pat the dough out to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter or a round glass to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the Biscuits:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
Serve the biscuits warm, with butter if desired.
