1/2
cup
cold unsalted butter

1

shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1-2
jalapenos
finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
1
cup
buttermilk
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or forks to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped jalapenos.
Add the Buttermilk:
Pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the biscuits tough.
Shape the Biscuits:
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
Pat the dough out to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter or a round glass to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the Biscuits:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
Serve the biscuits warm, with butter if desired.
