Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water 110°F
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the Filling:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • For the Topping:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add the milk, sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the Filling:
  • In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Stir in the chopped pecans.
  • Assemble the Rolls:
  • Punch down the risen dough and turn it out onto a floured surface.
  • Roll the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
  • Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the dough.
  • Roll the dough up tightly, starting from the long side, and pinch the seams to seal.
  • Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces and place them cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Prepare the Topping:
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
  • Spoon the mixture over the top of each roll.
  • Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  • Bake:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
