Philly Cheese Steak Casserole is a hearty and flavorful dish that brings all the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak into a comforting casserole. It’s loaded with tender beef, sautéed onions and peppers, and melty cheese.

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles or pasta of choice
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Method

  2. Preheat the Oven:
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Cook the Beef:
  5. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  6. Add the ground beef or thinly sliced steak and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  7. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  8. Sauté the Vegetables:
  9. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and bell peppers.
  10. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  11. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  12. Season with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  13. Prepare the Casserole Mixture:
  14. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, sautéed vegetables, cream cheese, shredded provolone cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and sour cream.
  15. Mix until well combined.
  16. Stir in the cooked egg noodles or pasta.
  17. Assemble the Casserole:
  18. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  19. Spread it out evenly.
  20. Prepare the Topping:
  21. In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs and melted butter.
  22. Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  23. Bake the Casserole:
  24. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
