Philly Cheese Steak Casserole is a hearty and flavorful dish that brings all the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak into a comforting casserole. It’s loaded with tender beef, sautéed onions and peppers, and melty cheese.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles or pasta of choice
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the Beef:
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef or thinly sliced steak and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • Sauté the Vegetables:
  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and bell peppers.
  • Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Prepare the Casserole Mixture:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, sautéed vegetables, cream cheese, shredded provolone cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and sour cream.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the cooked egg noodles or pasta.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread it out evenly.
  • Prepare the Topping:
  • In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs and melted butter.
  • Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake the Casserole:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
