Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak or thinly sliced beef
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese or mozzarella
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups cooked pasta optional for a heartier dish
  • 1/2 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs for topping
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the Steak:
  • In a large skillet, cook the thinly sliced ribeye steak over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Sauté the Vegetables:
  • In the same skillet, add the onions, bell peppers, mushrooms (if using), and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
  • In the greased baking dish, layer the cooked steak and sautéed vegetables. If you’re adding cooked pasta, stir it in at this point.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the steak and veggies, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  • Add the Topping:
  • In a small bowl, mix the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle the topping over the cheese layer.
  • Bake:
  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
