Pizza balls are a fun and delicious twist on traditional pizza, perfect for parties, game nights, or as a tasty snack for kids and adults alike.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Rolling Pin
  • Small bowl
  • Spoon or pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup marinara sauce plus extra for dipping
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices chopped (or any other desired toppings such as cooked sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Prepare the Dough:
  • Divide the pizza dough into small pieces, about the size of a golf ball.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out each piece into a circle approximately 4 inches in diameter.
  • Assemble the Pizza Balls:
  • Spoon a small amount of marinara sauce onto the center of each dough circle (be careful not to overfill).
  • Add a generous pinch of mozzarella cheese and your chosen toppings to each.
  • Sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges together to seal, forming a ball.
  • Place the pizza balls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Season the Pizza Balls:
  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  • Brush the olive oil mixture over the tops of the pizza balls to help them turn golden brown and add flavor.
  • Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pizza balls are golden and puffed up.

Notes

Allow the pizza balls to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
