Stuffing Balls

Stuffing Balls are a delightful twist on traditional stuffing, shaped into convenient, bite-sized portions. They’re not heavy or overly dense either.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups cubed day-old bread French or Italian bread works well
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh sage chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed bread, chopped onion, and chopped celery.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, chicken or vegetable broth, and eggs until well combined.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the bread mixture and toss gently to combine, ensuring all the bread is moistened.
  • Add the chopped parsley, thyme, sage, salt, and black pepper to the bread mixture and mix well.
  • Shape the mixture into 2-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake:
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the stuffing balls are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
