Taco Pinwheels

Taco Pinwheels are a delightful twist on traditional tacos, transforming taco flavors into bite-sized spirals that make perfect appetizers or snacks.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Plastic wrap
  • Sharp knife
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup black olives chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onions chopped
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper finely diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped (optional)
  • 4 large flour tortillas

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning mix until smooth and well-blended.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, black olives, green onions, red bell pepper, and cilantro (if using) until the mixture is evenly distributed.
  • Assemble the Pinwheels:
  • Lay out the flour tortillas on a flat surface.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges to prevent spillage when rolling.
  • Roll up the tortillas tightly to ensure the filling stays in place.

Notes

Wrap the rolled tortillas in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up. This makes slicing easier and helps the pinwheels keep their shape.
