The Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

The Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is a popular coffeehouse drink that combines the rich flavor of espresso with the sweetness of brown sugar and the creamy texture of oat milk.

Equipment

  • Espresso machine or coffee maker
  • Cocktail shaker or jar with a tight-fitting lid
  • Measuring spoons
  • Glass for serving

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of espresso about 2 ounces
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oat milk preferably barista edition for frothiness
  • Ice cubes
  • Dash of cinnamon optional

Instructions

  • Brew the Espresso:
  • Brew 2 shots of strong espresso using an espresso machine. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can use very strong brewed coffee as an alternative.
  • Prepare the Brown Sugar Syrup:
  • While the espresso is hot, dissolve the brown sugar into it by stirring thoroughly. This creates a sweetened espresso base.
  • Shake the Drink:
  • Fill a cocktail shaker or a jar with a tight-fitting lid about halfway with ice cubes.
  • Pour the sweetened espresso over the ice.
  • Add the oat milk to the shaker.
  • Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. The goal is to cool the mixture rapidly and create a frothy texture with the oat milk.

Notes

Strain the shaken espresso and oat milk into a glass filled with fresh ice cubes to keep it chilled without further dilution.
Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top for added flavor and aroma if desired.
