Vanilla French Beignets

Vanilla French Beignets are a delightful twist on the classic New Orleans-style beignets.

Equipment

  • Deep fryer or heavy pot
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife or pastry cutter
  • Slotted spoon
  • Paper towels (for draining)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup warm water 110°F/45°C
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • Oil for frying
  • Confectioners' sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Dust the warm beignets generously with confectioners' sugar and serve immediately.
