Method
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat. If not, you can use a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel dusted with flour or a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Prepare the Garlic Oil:
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with minced garlic.
- Assemble the Pizza:
- Brush the garlic oil evenly over the surface of the dough.
- Spread the ricotta cheese as the base layer.
- Evenly distribute the mozzarella, Parmesan, and fontina cheeses over the ricotta.
- Sprinkle dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper over the cheeses.
- Bake the Pizza:
- Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or pizza stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the pizza from the oven. If desired, sprinkle red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Let the pizza cool for a few minutes, then cut into slices and serve.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, incorporate a drizzle of truffle oil or a sprinkle of fresh arugula on the pizza after baking.
