Ingredients
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 large egg

- For the Filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- For the Topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans

- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the milk, sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Assemble the Rolls:
- Punch down the risen dough and turn it out onto a floured surface.
- Roll the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
- Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough up tightly, starting from the long side, and pinch the seams to seal.
- Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces and place them cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Prepare the Topping:
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
- Spoon the mixture over the top of each roll.
