Blueberry Sorbet

Blueberry Sorbet is a refreshing and healthy dessert that captures the natural sweetness and vibrant color of fresh blueberries. Easy to make and perfect for a hot day, this sorbet is a delightful treat for all ages.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Simple Syrup:
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. Blend the Ingredients:
  4. In a blender or food processor, combine the blueberries, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  5. Chill the Mixture:
  6. Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, until thoroughly chilled.
  7. Churn the Sorbet:
  8. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
  9. Freeze the Sorbet:
  10. Transfer the sorbet to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

Notes

For a smoother texture, strain the blueberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve before churning.
Serve the sorbet with fresh mint leaves or a drizzle of honey for an extra touch.
