Blueberry Sorbet

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • Prepare the Simple Syrup:
  • In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  • Blend the Ingredients:
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the blueberries, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  • Chill the Mixture:
  • Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, until thoroughly chilled.
  • Churn the Sorbet:
  • Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
  • Freeze the Sorbet:
  • Transfer the sorbet to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

Notes

For a smoother texture, strain the blueberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve before churning.
Serve the sorbet with fresh mint leaves or a drizzle of honey for an extra touch.
