Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Prepare the Sauce
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Mix until smooth.
Assemble the Casserole
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of the dish.
Spread half of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes.
Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
Add Cheese and Bake
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender.
Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
