BAKED CHICKEN WITH GARLIC AND BROWN SUGAR

INGREDIENTS

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

4 garlic cloves, minced

4 tablespoons of brown sugar

3 tsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 500°F and spray a casserole dish with cooking spray

Fry the minced garlic in olive oil until translucent but not brown. Sit aside

Place the chicken breasts in the casserole, and sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides

Mix the brown sugar with the fried garlic and spread it evenly over the chicken breasts

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, uncovered, or until chicken breasts are cooked through

Over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large ovenproof skillet. Add chicken, flip skin-side down, and stir until browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Finally, the chicken is transferred to a plate.

Melt the remaining butter in the skillet. Then add garlic, and cook and stir until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil until well combined. And then return the chicken to the skillet.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is no longer pink in the bones and juices run clear, 25 to 30 minutes. An immediate thermometer fitted near the bone should read 165 °F (74 °C).
