Jalapeno Popper Pinwheels are a delicious appetizer that combines the flavors of classic jalapeno poppers with the convenience of bite-sized pinwheels.
Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Mixing bowl
- Knife
- Rolling pin (optional)
Ingredients
- 1 package 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2-3 jalapenos seeded and finely chopped
- 6 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapenos, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Prepare the Dough:
- Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured surface. If the dough is perforated, press the seams together to form one large sheet.
- Spread the Filling:
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll and Slice:
- Starting from one of the long sides, roll the dough tightly into a log. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels.
- Bake the Pinwheels:
- Place the pinwheels cut side down on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes
Allow the pinwheels to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
